Taxes And Insurance

Usain Bolt’s tax details are unknown. He was tax-exempt at July’s London Anniversary Games and next year’s Commonwealth Games. 

In an article in Forbes, he said that he won’t be returning to the UK until the tax laws are made less brutal. He stated, 

"But unlike most other tax authorities, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs also demands a cut of an individual's money from sponsors such as sportswear manufacturers, watchmakers and purveyors of shaving products. This is worked out by dividing the number of days a sportsman competes in the UK by the number of days he competes elsewhere."

Usain Bolt was born on August 21, 1986, in Sherwood Content, Jamaica to parents Wellesley and Jennifer Bolt who ran a local grocery store. Bolt grew up there playing football and cricket. He expressed his love for music as a child stating, "When I was young, I didn't really think about anything other than sports."

He played cricket throughout his primary and middle schools but was urged by his coaches into taking field and sprint activities. He won his high school championship in 2001, which propelled him into taking the sport more seriously.
