Guiry made his feature film debut in 1993 at age 12 in the coming-of-age comedy movie, The Sandlot. He starred as Scott Smalls in the small budget movie, which has since achieved cult status.

After his acclaimed turn, Guiry continued to work and the following year, landed the part of Matthew Turner in the family fantasy movie, Lassie

His next turn saw him as the younger version of Seymour Cassel's character in the 1996 sports family drama, The Last Home Run.

He went on to appear in the 2000 submarine movie, U-371, starring Matthew McConaughey, Jon Bon Jovi, Harvey Keitel, Jake Weber, and Matthew Settle.    

He joined the ensemble cast of the 2001 war movie, Black Hawk Down, playing Sergeant Ed Yurek opposite Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, and Eric Bana, among others. The Academy Award-winning movie also featured Tom Hardy in his feature film debut.

Arrest for Assaulting Police Officer

In August 2013, Tom Guiry was taken into custody for allegedly head-butting a police officer at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, when the officer tried to stop him boarding a flight for being too drunk.
