Stephen King's Assets: House, Cars, Lifestyle, And Expenses

King owns 2 properties, one in Maine and the other in Florida. He primarily and famously lives in the Maine house. He has designed the house in a "cliche-horror" fashion with a large yard, leafless trees, 119th-century architecture and a gate with spikes and deathbats.

His winter retreat in Florida is much more modern and luxurious spanning an area of 6,817 square foot consisting of 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a swimming pool and a tennis court that King later added in 2014. He purchased this house in April 2019 for a reported $8.9 million.

Stephen probably drives expensive and luxurious cars. Although not much is known about Stephen's personal car collection, he has written novels based on many classic cars, so we wouldn't be surprised if he actually had some of them in his own garage.

Charity And Endorsements

King has stated that he donates approximately $4 million per year "to libraries, local fire departments that need updated lifesaving equipment, schools, and a scattering of organizations that underwrite the arts.

The Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation established by King and his wife, ranks sixth among Maine charities in terms of average annual giving with over $2.8 million in grants per year, according to The Grantsmanship Center.

In November 2011, the foundation also donated $70,000 in matched funding via his radio station to help pay the heating bills for families in need in his home town of Bangor, Maine, during the winter.

Tax And Insurance

The exact details of King's taxes and insurances are not public knowledge but based on his net worth and earnings, it can be assumed that he has all of his tax and insurance needs met.

Regarding taxes imposed on rich people, King has commented, "If you want to pay more, pay more, they said. Tired of hearing about it, they said. Tough shit for you guys, because I'm not tired of talking about it. I've known rich people, and why not, since I'm one of them?

The majority would rather douse their dicks with lighter fluid, strike a match, and dance around singing 'Disco Inferno' than pay one more cent in taxes to Uncle Sugar." He believes that rich people should be obliged to pay more tax proportionately based upon their income.
