Gymnastics Career

Simone Biles started gymnastics since she turned 6 and trained to be a professional gymnast at age 8.

She made the cut for the United States national gymnastics team in 2012 and has been instrumental in the team's gold-medal victories at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships on four separate years: 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019

Simone won four individual gold medals and a bronze medal in the 2016 Summer Olympics along with a gold medal as part of the women's gymnastics team.

Individually, she is a five-time all-around champion, a five-time floor exercise champion, a three-time balance beam champion, and a two-time vault champion, at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She is also a six-time United States national all-around champion.     

To date, Simone has won a combined 30 gold medals at the Olympics and the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Unanimously considered the greatest American gymnast of all time and one of the greatest gymnasts in all the world, Simone has adorned the front pages of many sports magazines and been sponsored by various sports-related and otherwise brands.

Some of her sponsors include the global sports and entertainment conglomerate, Octagon; the global apparel brand, Nike; the consumer brand manufacturer, Procter & Gamble, The Hershey Company, and United Airlines.

Additionally, she also signed a deal with GK Elite Sportswear to collaborate on an exclusive line of leotards. She also has sponsorship deals with Spieth America for an exclusive line of gymnastics equipment, and with Caboodles for women-centred sportswear.

Early Life And Childhood

Simone Arianne Biles, or famously known as Simone Biles, was born on March 14, 1997, in Columbus, Ohio, to Ronald Biles and Sharon Biles. The third of four siblings born to Ronald and Sharon, Simone and her siblings were in and out of foster care when her mother couldn't care for her four children.

Her maternal grandfather officially adopted Simone and her younger sister, Adria, in 2003, with the older two siblings being adopted by their maternal aunt. She received her secondary-level education at home.

Personal Life And Relationships

Since August 2017, Simone Biles has been in a relationship with fellow gymnast Stacey Ervin Jr.

They were first acquainted during the 2014 P&G Gymnastics Championships. Their friendship quickly blossomed to love, and they have been together ever since.  

Sexual Assault Allegations

On January 18, 2018, Simone came forward and accused Larry Nassar, the doctor and physician of the USA Gymnastics national team, of sexual assault, becoming one of 250 women and girls to accuse Nassar of sexual assault.

Nassar was found guilty of various offences, including sexually molesting a minor, possession of child pornography, and sexual assault, and as of July 2017, he spends a life sentence in a Michigan state prison.
