Rachel Roy, 45, is an American fashion designer who, among people, is also widely known as the ex-wife of American actor and entrepreneur Damon Dash.
As a fashion designer, Roy has worked for numerous brands and fashion shows. In 2006, she received a Bollywood award for her contribution to American fashion. Rachel Irene Roy was born on 15th January 1974 in San Bernardino County, California, the United States of America to Ruth Roy. She is American as per her nationality and has mixed (Dutch & Indian) ethnic background.
She went to Seaside High School and later enrolled at Columbia Union College (now known as Washington Adventist University), located in Takoma Park, Maryland. She then moved to New York, where she interned at the fashion label Rocawear and worked as a wardrobe stylist.
While working at Rocawear, she worked as the creative director of the women’s and children’s divisions. In 2004, she launched her eponymous fashion collection.

They shared two daughters: Ava born on 7th Dec 1999 and Tallulah Ruth, who was born on 13th May 2008. Rachel and Dash’s marriage short-lived, and the couple filed for the divorce in 2009.
Their official divorce was finalized in 2011, and the sole custody of their children was given to Roy.
A few days later, the divorce, Dash filed a lawsuit against Roy alleging breach and fiduciary duties and other claims related to a fashion company called Royale Etenia, which they founded during their marriage.
