Emmy Award-winner Rachel Maddow is an American television news program host and liberal political commentator who currently hosts The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC. She also hosted the same name talk radio program from 2005 to 2010 on Air American Radio.
Maddow is the first openly lesbian anchor to host a major prime-time news program in the United States of America. In October 2018, she launched the podcast Bag Man, which was focused on the 1973 political scandal surrounding Vice President Spiro Agnew.

She went to Castro Valley High School and later enrolled at Stanford University from where she earned her degree in public policy in 1994. She did her postgraduate in Lincoln College, Oxford, in 1995. Moreover, she earned her Doctor of Philosophy in politics from the University of Oxford in 2001.

Rachel got her first job in broadcast journalism in radio. In 1999, she entered a contest held By WRNX, which she eventually won and was hired as the co-host of the morning drive show.
She worked for WRNX until 2004 when she auditioned for the newly formed radio show Air America. She began co-hosting Unfiltered along with Chuck D until its cancelation in 2005.
Following the cancelation of Unfiltered, the weekday two-hour radio program The Rachel Maddow Show began airing.
