In 1975, Phil Collins exchanged the vows with Andrea Bertorelli and divorced on 2 February 1980. They adopted a daughter Joely and were blessed with a son, Simon Collins.  

After divorce with Andrea, Collins walked down the aisle with his second wife, Jill Tavelman, on 4 August 1984. They share one daughter Lily Collins. His now ex-spouse Tavelman filed for divorce in 1994 and was finalized in 1996.

Collins paid £17 million ($22 million) to Lily for the divorce settlement.

In 2010, Collins revealed that he had suicidal thoughts due to feelings of depression and low self-esteem in recent years. In an interview, he added he resisted those thoughts for the sake of his children.
