Peter Lawrence Boyle Jr. was an American actor best known for playing Frank Barone on the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond and the comical monster in Young Frankenstein

Boyle made his acting debut in 1965 and starred in numerous films and television series until his death in 2006. Some of his notable film works are Joe, Tail Gunner Joe, Johnny Dangerously, Dr. Dolittle, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, to name a few.

In 2008, he starred as Poovey in All Roads Lead Home along with Vivien Cardone, Jason London, Vanessa Branch, and others. The film was released posthumously.

Peter Lawrence Boyle Jr. was born on 18th October 1935 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, the United States of America to Alice Lewis and Francis Xavier Boyle. He held an American nationality and had mixed (French and the British Isles) ethnic descent. 

Boyle went to St. Francis de Sales School and West Philadelphia Catholic High for Boys and graduated in 1953. He then enrolled and graduated from La Salle University. 

He was married to reporter Lorain Alterman whom he met during the set of Young Frankenstein. The couple exchanged their wedding vows on 21st October 1977 and were together until his death on 12th December 2006. 

Peter's Death And Memorial

Boyle passed away at the age of 71 on 12th December 2006, at New York-Presbyterian Hospital after suffering from multiple myeloma and heart disease. 

After his death, his co-star Ray Romano from Everybody Loves Raymond expressed the loss, saying: 

"He gave me great advice, he always made me laugh, and the way he connected with everyone around him amazed me."

Similarly, Patricia Heaton stated,

 "Peter was an incredible man who made all of us who had the privilege of working with him aspire to be better actors."

During Peter's 72nd birthday, his friend singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen dedicated "Meeting Across the River" to Boyle during the Madison Square Garden concert with the E Street Band.

He was laid to rest at Green River Cemetery in Springs, New York.
