Similarly, the pair also have two houses in Los Angeles, one of which they bought for $5.15 million in January 2018. The property is spread over half an acre and 3 bedrooms with 3.5 bathrooms in the two storeys. The house has 4,000 square feet of living space.

The cherry on top of their real-estate cake was their mansion located in the pristine Malibu Colony Road in Malibu, California, USA. 

The beach property has 2,963 square feet of space with 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. The estate is located in one of the most sought out locations in SoCal. They listed the property for $18,5000,000 on July 2, 2007.

Later, the property’s price was reduced to $16,750,000 before the couple sold it for an undisclosed amount in May 2008.

Film Career And Oscar-Winning Role

Mary started her career on the big screen in 1978 with the film Goin' South. She followed up this with another minor role in 1979’s Time After Time. The year later, she played a role on Melvin and Howard as Lynda West Dummar.

Melvin and Howard was a film based on the real-life of Melvin Earl Dummar, the man who claimed to have saved tycoon Howard Hughes in the Nevada desert in 1967. Later, he also claimed that Hughes had given him around $156 million as part of his will.

Although the film did only mediocre at best, Mary’s performance as Lynda West Dummar got her an Oscar win in the Best Supporting Actress category.

After finishing her schooling at local schools, she joined Hendrix College. She also travelled to New York to audition for a role at the suggestion of a teacher at the Hendrix college.

She is married to Ted Danson as of April 2020. The couple tied the knot on October 7, 1995. Before this, she was married to Malcolm McDowell, they got hitched on September 29, 1980,
