Leslie Roy Moonves also known as Les Moonves is an American media executive best known as the former CEO and Chairman of CBS Corporation who resigned in 2018 owing to several sexual allegations against him.
Prior to his resignation Moonves held several executive positions at the CBS between July 1995 and September 2018. He was a member of the board of directors of ZeniMax Media starting from 1999.
He also remained as the co-chief operating officer and the co-president of Viacom, Inc. from 2004 until the company's disbandment in 2005.
The American media executive became the chairman of CBS in 2016. However, he stepped down from the chairmanship in September 2018, after several women accused him of sexual misconduct.
Sexual Allegations against Les Moonves
According to an article published in The New Yorker by Ronan Farrow in July 2018, Les Moonves abused six women at the CBS, whereupon he was placed under investigation. By September 2018, six more women accused him of sexual harassment dating back to the 1980s.
The New York Times published an article in November 2018, where actress Bobbie Phillips alleged that Les had assaulted her and tried to bury the evidence.
It was also revealed that Moonves had been paying $9.5 million as a settlement to actress Eliza Dushku, who claims that she was crossed off her role in the CBS sitcom Bull after she reported sexual harassment by her co-actor Michael Weatherly. Cybill Shepherd also claimed that the American media executive canceled her show, Cybill after she denied his advances towards her.
