There had also been a rumor that he bought a $400 million yacht 'Flying Fox', but the rumor was proved to be false.

Charity And Endorsements

Jeff has conducted many philanthropic projects, funded by Bezos Expeditions. In 2013, he pledged $500,000 to Wordreader, a non-profit organization founded by a former Amazon employee. On June 15, 2017, he posted a message on twitter asking ideas for philanthropy. At the time Bezos' philanthropic deeds summed up to around $100 million. 

He announced in September 2018 that he would commit around $2 billion to fight homelessness in America. As recent as January 2018, he donated $33 million to TheDream US, a college scholarship fund for undocumented immigrants in US brought as minors.

Tax And Insurance

Although, his personal taxes are not known, his company Amazon got a federal tax refund of $119 million and had to pay a total of $0 in federal taxes for the past two years. A decision that many opposed.

In response, an Amazon spokesperson said, 

Amazon pays all the taxes we are required to pay in the U.S. and every country where we operate, including paying $2.6 billion in corporate tax and reporting $3.4 billion in tax expense over the last three years."

The Personal Life Of Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos was born on 12th January 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to parents Jacklyn Gise and Ted Jorgensen. After his parents' divorce, he grew up with his mom and stepdad Miguel Bezos. 

The family then moved to Houston Texas where he worked for Exxon, after completing his education with a bachelor's degree from University of New Mexico.

Jeff met MacKenzie Tuttle in 1992, Manhattan, working for DE Shaw. The two got married a year later and in 1994, they moved to Seattle, where Jeff founded Amazon. Jeff has four kids, 3 biological and one being adopted from China.

After 25 years of marriage, the couple got divorced. The divorce was settled with Jeff keeping 75% of Amazon's shares and MacKenzie taking the rest 25%.
