Who Was Pop Smoke?

Bashar Barakah Jackson, mostly known for his stage name, Pop Smoke, was born on 20 July 1999 in New York City, the United States. 

He was an American rapper and songwriter who stepped into the music industry in 2018. In 2019, he released his single, Welcome to the Party, which became his breakout tune.

The very song was later remixed in collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Skepta. 

On 7 February 2020, Jackson released the second mixtape, Meet the Woo 2 featuring Lil Tjay, Quavo, Fivio Foreign, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. 

And, on 19 February 2020, the Invincible singer died.   

How Did He Die?

Bashar Barakah Jackson, aka Pop Smoke, was announced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after he was brought in a critically wounded state, TMZ reported. 

TMZ revealed that the Dior singer was at a house in the Hollywood Hills. At 4:30 am, two men broke in and fired multiple shots to the rapper.       

The source added, according to law enforcement sources, two men, who were spotted "fleeing on foot," fired the shots that killed the rapper.

As per the police report, the Los Angeles Department responded to a call at around 4:30 am, reporting on 2000 block of Hercules Drive regarding "an unknown number of masked suspects" who entered the residence and "shot a black male in his 20s"

Several fellow rappers and artists gave the condolences to his family, including 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, Ludacris, and many others.
