Similarly, Hong is also famous as Ngo Lan Tran in the movie Downsizing and as Linh in the TV show Treme. She earns a good sum of dollars as salary from her acting career.

Short-Biography

Hong Chau was born in 1979, Thailand to Vietnamese parents. Her folks lived in a refugee camp in Thailand shortly after fleeing Vietnam in the late 1970s. 

Louisiana's Vietnamese Catholic Chruch sponsored Chau and her family including her two siblings. 

She has mentioned that her parents were always shunned as Asian migrants.

"My whole life, I've always felt like I was the more acceptable of my parents, and they were always the people who had to stay in the background, or hide in the broom closet."

With the help of Pell Grants, Hong attended Eleanor McMain Secondary School. Then, she enrolled at Benjamin Franklin High School. Likewise, she went to the Louisiana School to study Math, Science, and The Arts. Later, she graduated from Boston University. 

Films And Television Shows

After years of struggles, Chau's life changed for good when she decided to become an actor. 152.4 cm tall actress Hong started her acting career as Asian Masseuse in the TV sitcom The Sarah Silverman Program.

Then, she appeared in the TV series How I Met Your Mother staring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Neil Patrick Harris, and others in 2010.

The same year the actress appeared in television shows like Trenches, NCIS, My Boys, and $h*! My Dad Says. From 2011 to 2013, Chau played Linh in drama series Treme.

Also, in 2012, she worked in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Good Luck Charlie. Finally, she became popular after appearing in movie Inherent Vice with Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Martin Short, and others. 

Additionally, from 2014 to 2015, she portrayed Lora in the television series A to Z. Likewise, after two years, in 2017 Hong appeared in the movie Downsizing and TV shows, Big Little Lies and American Dad!
