Gary Wayne Coleman was an American actor, comedian, and writer knew for his role, Arnold Jackson, in Diff’rent Strokes.
Coleman made his acting debut from an episode of Medical Center in 1974. He then appeared in films like Scout’s Honor, On the Right Track, Jimmy the Kid, and An American Carol. He was listed no.1 on the list of “100 Greatest Child Stars” on television.
Coleman began his career in 1974 after he appeared in a commercial for Harris Bank. The same year, Gary appeared in an episode of Medical Center.
From 1978 to 1986, Gary played Arnold Jackson in an American sitcom Diff’rent Strokes. The show first aired on 3rd November 1978 starring Conrad Bain, Todd Bridges, and Dana Plato.
Gary received $100,000 per episode at the peak of his career. According to Bridges’ autobiography Killing Willis, Gary was made to work longer on the set of Diff’rent Strokes despite his health problems and age.

Coleman suffered from focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a congenital kidney disease, and corticosteroids. The medications used for the treatment eventually limited his growth to 4 ft 8 inches only.

How Did Gary Coleman Die?
On 26th May 2010, Gary was admitted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah in critical condition after he fell down the stairs at his home in Santaquin; hitting his head and suffered an epidural hematoma.
As per a hospital spokesman, Gary was conscious and lucid the next morning, however, his condition subsequently worsened. By mid-afternoon on 27th May, he was unconscious and on life support. Sadly Coleman passed away at 12:05 pm on 28th May 2010 at the age of 42.
