The concert took place in two different venues at once, in Philadelphia via a screen and the real thing was happening at Wembley Stadium in London on 13 July 1985.

Freddie Mercury (real name Farrokh Bulsara) on 5 September 1946 in Stone Town, Sultanate of Zanzibar. He was born to Indian parents, mother Bomi Bulsara, and father Jer Bulsara. He grew up with a sister named Kashmira Cooke aka Kash. He had British nationality but lived in British colonized India as a child.  

He was openly gay but was in relationships with numerous women before coming out as gay. As a matter of fact, he dated Mary Austin when she was 19 years old and he was 24.

Austin was described by Mercury as the love of his life and even wrote the song “Love Of My Life” for her. They were in a relationship until Mercury came out as gay to Mary while they were dating.

They remained friends until the end and Mercury said that she was his best friend even after the end of their relationship.

Freddie Mercury died on 24 November 1991 only a day after he announced he had AIDS to the public. He died from bronchial pneumonia which resulted from AIDS. His death left hundreds of millions of fans all over the world.   

His funeral service was held on 27 November 1991 according to Zoroastrian rites with a Zoroastrian priest. A shrine was erected that holds his birth name after his death and the site still gets regular visits.

Around 35 of his close friends attended the service and later his body was cremated but only Mary Austin knows the location of his ashes.
