She found further success in the 2004 disaster movie, The Day After Tomorrow, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Dennis Quaid.  

She won a Critics Choice Award and a Saturn Award besides a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Christine DaaƩ in the movie adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera.

She joined the cast of the Showtime comedy-drama series, Shameless, in December 2009, and was part of the main cast until she departed in August 2018, after nine seasons. 

Rossum also has two studio albums to her name: Inside Out (2007) and Sentimental Journey (2013). She also released Carol of the Bells in 2007.

The co-op features a living room fireplace, built-in bookshelves, marble finishings, herringbone floors, custom closets, and casement windows.

The house was furnished by brand new furniture hand-picked by Rossum. Despite spending time and effort on the renovation, Rossum sold the house for $1.1 million in 2017.

Emmy Rossum was born Emmanuelle Grey Rossum on September 12, 1986. Born and raised in New York City, New York, the 33-year-old is the only child born to single mother Cherry Rossum, a corporate photographer.         

Her father was but a fleeting presence in her life, leaving her mother after she became pregnant with Emmy and only meeting his daughter a handful of times.    

As a child, Rossum displayed precocious talent at singing and joined the Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus when she was 7.

She was diagnosed with ADHD in kindergarten, but nonetheless attended the Spence School in Manhattan. She did eventually drop out to pursue her career but received her diploma at 15 via Stanford University's Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY) initiative.

Rossum and Esmail started dating in 2013 and got engaged in August 2015. They tied the knot on May 28, 2017, after a three-year betrothal. 

This is Rossum's second marriage; her first marriage happened in 2008 with Justin Siegel. They got married on February 17, 2008, despite vehemently denying being married on the media. 

On September 25, 2009, Siegel filed for divorce from Rossum, citing "irreconcilable differences". Their divorce became final on December 28, 2010.     

As of this writing, Emmy Rossum has no children.
