Their marriage yielded in son Jack Henry Quaid. They passed on their "acting genes" to Jack, who is himself, an actor. Their marriage did not last, and their divorce was finalized on July 16, 2001.

After an eight-month fling with model Shanna Moakler in 2001, Dennis got married for the third time to a real estate broker, Kimberly Buffington, on July 4, 2004. They had fraternal twins, Thomas Boone Quaid and Zoe Grace Quaid, born via a surrogate on November 8, 2007.

On November 18, 2007, Dennis and Kim's ten-day-old twins were accidentally given an overdose of a blood thinner by the hospital staff. The twins recovered, but Quaid sued the hospital and was paid $750,000 in damages.

Dennis and Kimberly were on the brink of separating multiple times, until they officially separated on April 27, 2018.

The 65-year-old Quaid recently made headlines when he got engaged to his 26-year-old girlfriend, Laura Savoie, on October 18, 2019.

Quaid's Child Support Payments

After three divorces and three children, one would assume Dennis Quaid would ask for less child support payment. But in an unprecedented move, Quaid asked the court for an increase in his monthly child support payments!

But things might not be so cut-and-dry! Dennis had been paying $13,750 a month to Kimberly for their twins, Thomas and Zoe. But a clause in the agreement called for increased payment if Dennis's annual income exceeded $1.3 million.

Dennis made over $6 million in 2019 alone, which would increase his child support payment exponentially. He pleaded with the court to increase his fees, but not as high as mandated.

So, Dennis's pledge might seem noble, but the reasons behind his gesture are dubious.
