Peters is not only an established actor on the big screen, but she is also equally famous for her work on TV. She started her career on TV with the show The Kraft Music Hall in 1969. In the same year, she made appearances on the sketch show The Carol Burnett Show.

Later she worked on TV movies like Paradise Lost and George M!. Then she did a few minor roles on various TV series before joining the cast of All's Fair. The rend followed as after leaving the show, she once again jumped from role to role before getting a regular voice role on Animaniacs.

Similarly, her appearances on Ally McBeal and Bobbie's Girl got her Emmy award nominations. Due to her increasing popularity, she also made cameo appearances on Will & Grace, starring Debra Messing and Eric McCormack.
