As one of the richest journalists, Cooper lives a lavish lifestyle and has a lot of extravagant houses. In June 2014 he bought a home in Connecticut.

The estate cost him between $5 million and $9 million. The magnificent mansion has a lot of features including servant’s quarters and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Started As A Small Time Journalist

Cooper’s first worked as a correspondent but found it incredibly difficult to get on-air reporting jobs. He then forged a fake press pass with the help of his friend and entered Myanmar. 

There he made a report on the Burmese students fighting the government.

At the time he was employed as a fact-checker at Channel One. The network later bought the clips and his on-air reporting career started.

He spent a year in Vietnam after this and focused his reporting on the country. 

Soon after he would start reporting stories of war around the region. He was especially involved in giving accounts of the Rwandan genocide to the media.
